The current report of data theft from Indian Railways is severe. This is not the first time that such a data breach has occurred, let alone with Indian Railways, as other governmental entities have also had breaches of this nature. Data protection and privacy are currently not officially and completely covered by any laws or regulations in India.
Recognising the importance of having a law protecting personal data of Individuals, Rest The Case is organising a Panel Discussion on the new Digital Personal Data Protection Bill 2022 with industry experts to get a better understanding of this this bill.
The panel discussion will delve into the key elements of the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill 2022, such as ‘What are the privacy and data protection obligations on organisations’, ‘What are the implications for data sharing and cross-border transfers’, ‘What is the scope of the new data protection authority’, ‘How does the Bill aim to protect the rights of data subjects’, ‘What are the penalties for non-compliance’, ‘What are the opportunities for businesses under the Bill’ and etc.
